Frequently Asked Questions about custom shoe orders

Please send me a message if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Surprise! I don’t sell shoes at all. I paint on shoes that you provide.

Pretty much any footwear is able to be painted. The best kind of shoes will have either a tight weave canvas, or a leather type surface, and they can be shoes with laces or slip-on. If you aren’t sure what to get I have some favorites on Amazon I can recommend here.

For local customers, we can arrange a drop off.  Local AND Non-local  clients can have shoes shipped directly to me from Amazon, and other sellers.  I’ll provide my address in these instances.

Anything you want. Within reason. I’m not Sistine Chapel level…yet. If I don’t think I can do a fabulous job, I will tell you.

I use acrylic, leather acrylic, alcohol ink and gel ink. The medium is dependent on the shoe material and the art design.

The cost is dependent upon the time it takes and the complexity of the design. Most designs will be between two and three hours of work at $30 per hour, more complicated designs, and/or larger shoes can take four, five or more hours. The baby shoes, I can usually whip those out in about one hour.

After we chat about what you want your shoes to look like I can tell you approximately how long it’ll take for me to complete so you know what to expect the cost to be. I will take a $30 deposit and then provide me your shoes. Once I received them I will start painting. I can also send you pictures along the way. The balance of the total is due at pick up or shipping, depending on how the shoes will get back to you.

All shoes, regardless of their materials, are treated with a waterproof protector. This means that the paint will not run or bleed. You will also be able to gently clean them. As they are shoes, there will always be a certain amount of wear and tear on them eventually.

I can accept cash, major credit cards. Venmo, and Zelle. If you need to use another form of payment, we can figure it out.

Frequently Asked Questions about Painting Parties

Please reach us at michelle@PrettyPainted.art if you cannot find an answer to your question.

So many places! Public Painting Parties will be listed on the Events page.  Check the Event Details for the party for links to register.

Private Pretty Painted Parties can happen any place you want...your house, your Mom's house, your business, a restaurant or bar, or even a park if the weather can be trusted.

Just not at my house please.

Every guest is welcome to bring any item they would like to paint.  Bring shoes, a bag, a jacket or jeans.  If you ain't got time for all that, you can just show up and purchase an item from my stock. I have bags and cute wooden shapes, check it all out here.

And your friends, bring all your friends!

The December 17th party at The Wine Alley has been cancelled

As it turns out, the week before Christmas is not a fantastic time to try and schedule an event. Please keep an eye out for the next one!
